by train

When travelling by train (Berchtesgadener Land Bahn, Deutsche Bahn or Österreichische Bundesbahn), you get off at stop Bad Reichenhall - Kirchberg.

The base station of the Predigtstuhlbahn is only a few minutes’ walk away on the other side of the river. The route is signposted from the railway station. Incidentally, the Predigtstuhlbahn is the only mountain transportation system that is connected to the European railway network. The InterCity 2083 “Königssee”, which runs between Hamburg-Altona and Berchtesgaden every day, stops at Bad Reichnhall - Kirchberg. The journey from (or to) Salzburg, Rosenheim, Munich, Mühldorf and Landshut is also either direct or involves only one change.
